Filming on Series 4 has just finished its 26 week since starting on the 27th June 2017. With 2018 just around the corner we felt it was best to reveal some new information about Series 4.
Graham Bray acting in Series 4
Filming on Series 4 has just passed 75% completion. In October it passed 52% and will mostly like pass 90% in March 2018. The majority of all episodes are nearly done, with just some fillers to put in here and there.
Mark Bray, Tom Skinner & Tom Ford acting for an unnamed episode
So what are the episodes titles? How many are there? And who are the writers?
We don't want to give away too much, but we can reveal that there are 10 episodes coming out. Episode 1 airing on the 28th April and the rest following weekly. We might add more episodes if we have time.
Out of these 10 episodes:
Tom Skinner writes 3 and co-writes 2
Tom Ford writes 2
Mark Bray writes 1 and co-writes 2
Colin Bray writes 1
Samuel Moore co-writes 1
Graham Bray co-writes 1
Unfortunately we won't be releasing the episode title list yet, but hopefully sometime in February/March a blog post will go up revealing each episode name.
Samuel Moore & Brandon Messer with director Tom Skinner
There are only 12 filming days left to finish Series 4, from January until April. We hope you enjoy.
So filming on Series 4 is still happening, week by week. We began on the 27th June and have been filming every month for the last 22 weeks. So what has been happening
Samuel Moore & Will Britton
After a day filming down a tunnel
In October we had a break. Since returning we have filmed 5 times, with 6 more planned for December. Since October a trailer has released as well as the Doctor Who Movie. In the trailer we found out the main companions and cast
Samuel Moore, Brandon Messer & Tom Skinner
After a day filming on location
The only information we don't know is what each episode name is and who are the writers. We aren't even sure how many episodes there will be, some say 7, other say 9 or 10. Hopefully we will get another trailer in December or January which will fill in some more information.
The trailer for Series 4 has finally arrived and can be seen in the link below
This is all the information we can currently give away for the new series coming 28th April 2018.
The Companion:
This is Ethan Walker, he's 16 years old. He studies Photography at College. So far the trailer has shown him to be the main companion along side The Doctor. Ethan's role in the series will be deeper than any backstory we've done before and there are plenty of surprises to come. The character was designed to appeal to our biggest target audience, the majority of our viewers are aged 15-20 and are either boys or girls.
The Girlfriend:
This is Abigail Rose, she is 16 years old and is going out with Ethan Walker. Her parents are divorced and she visits both of them, living in two separate houses. She studies English, History and Music at an all girls sixth form. Just like Ethan, Abigail was designed to appeal to our largest audience, we hope the male fans enjoy Abigail and the girl fans enjoy Ethan and visa versa.
The Co-Pilot:
The Deacon has returned from Series 3 and the movie. We have given her a bigger role this series and a more fleshed out backstory. She is the more comedic character in the series and we hope will be enjoyed by everyone. The Doctor does start to build a bigger relationship with her during the series. The last we saw of her was on Gallifrey with Rassilon during the movie 'The Doctor's Atonement'
The Gardener:
This is Terry Jules. Good friends with Abigail & Ethan. He has watched over them since they were very little, he's a local gardener and neighbour to Ethan. He works for the council and does gardening at local parks and playgrounds. He also tends his own garden and Ethan's too. He has deep conversation with both Ethan and Abigail during the series and asks like a father to them.
The Doctor:
Returning for his third series. Samuel Moore has a load of deep and funny moments in this series. The Doctor was last seen heading to see The Deacon. Sam has worked hard on The Doctor in the past so we felt we didn't need to change much but we have given him a couple of monologues and deep lines of dialogue to say during the series which we hope people will enjoy.
That is all we can say so far, these our the main five character throughout the whole series. These characters will appear the most during the series and will have the biggest impact. They'll make you laugh, they'll make you cry, but most importantly they'll make you change the way you feel about life and the universe. We can't wait to release the series. Will you be watching?
After a very long wait we've finally released our new Doctor Who story. But did it work?
We have received a small amount of criticism from the movie which is new because normally we get very little or none. This is most likely because our fan base is slowly getting bigger, meaning more people with strong opinions come and go, and we do enjoy getting feedback from the viewers.
The bad things with the movie:
Too Short: A lot of people commented saying they felt the movie was over to quick and would have preferred a longer one. The reason the movie was short is because a lot of our longer videos don't have many views and 25 minutes felt like a good length for a fan film
It was confusing: The big complain was the story didn't make much sense and that's understandable, the movie is tying up a lot of lose ends from Series 2 & 3. If you haven't seen those episodes, then the movie is quite confusing. Also having two doctors, who have the same Tardis and same locations but never meeting can be quite confusing.
The theme song: When it came to making the opening for the movie, we wanted to try something different, so we got in contact with a YouTuber called 'Soundsmyth Productions' and we asked them if we could use a theme they had created. So far the intro hasn't been criticised, just the theme song. A few felt it should be more up beat. The reason for it being a deep pitch is because the movie and the series will go down a much darker route.
Didn't like the regeneration: Towards the end of the movie we see Tom Skinner's Doctor regenerate into Mark Bray's Doctor, we decided to try something different in this movie and we inverted colours and made it glow a bright dark colour. Some people in the comments didn't like this, luckily a regeneration isn't a common thing we do, so if we have any future regenerations, then we will make sure its enjoyable for everyone.
Wasn't very interesting: So the movie didn't have much action, a few fight scenes but no explosions or real threats. We find this a very hard thing to do in fan films, but we will try and find a way around it for future stories. So far Series 4 has a lot more action planned and we hope that it pleases everyone.
The good things with the movie:
Tardis Interior: So a few months ago we released a Tardis Tour video which got a lot of people excited for the movie. Seeing it in an actual story seems to have pleased everyone and so far no one has complained about any inside the Tardis.
Good filming: Quite a few people put in the comments how much they enjoyed the camera angles and focusing. This is good to hear as 'moving image' is one of our strong points. Series 4 will have a lot more camera techniques and we will be using more than one camera to film scenes.
The intro: A lot criticised the theme song but enjoyed the new intro. So far the intro is here to stay and will be used for the Christmas Special and Series 4. The theme song is currently being looked at and might change, but for now the intro stays the same.
The acting: A lot of people praised Samuel Moore's performance as The Doctor, one person commented "Samuel Moore was actually in his best performance in this episode" a lot of people enjoyed the past Doctor and his darker side. Overall acting seemed to be on point.
Cameo Master: For those of you who are long time viewers will know that Ben Durrant played The Master in 2015-16. It was a big shock at the time to find out 'spoilers' that Daniel Jefferson was The Master all along. Seeing Ben return to MB & Homeland after nearly 2 years is a great treat and a lot of people have praised this in the comment section.
Overall the movie received mixed reviews. Some people gave it a 5.5 or 6 out of 10. Others gave it an 8 out of 10. There are some good bits, but also some bad bits which sadly weights the film down a lot. Meaning its an average episode, perhaps leaning towards above average but not great. An overall decent story with some highs and lows.
As of 2018 we will no longer be making the News Update & Gameplay monthly. Instead we will be extending our podcasts to come out monthly instead of every two months. The podcast will feature gameplay as well as updating so it is basically a merge of the two.
Brandon & Jordan hosting the News Update
The reason for cancelling these two videos is because they are becoming hard to make, and a lot of the members at MB & Homeland haven't got the time to make them, but the podcast will become monthly so we will have a video every month discussing what's been happening at MB & Homeland.
Sam, Tom and Mark in the first ever Podcast
There will not be a Political Rage Season 3, instead we will bring out either a full length movie or short film to wrap up the plot of it. This will most likely come out late 2018.
Sam & Mark acting in Political Rage
The sudden cancelling of shows is not something to be worried about. This time last year we cancelled Race To The White House and Behind The Lens. We are all slowly getting older and older, meaning we are having less time to have fun and make videos, so the more we focus on the bigger stuff like Star Wars & Doctor Who, then the better the content will be.
Filming has begun again on FanFilm Series 4 of MB & Homeland's Doctor Who. We filmed on Episode 2 at an old location which we filmed at in 2016 for Series 3.
There are a total of 8 filming days planned from now until the end of December. MB & Homeland are hoping by the end of the year to have over 75% of filming done.
We have also been using some interesting props to film with on Series 4. Be ready to expect more fleshed out and detailed characters.
After a week of editing, we have finally put together the whole film for its final draft. It will now be looked at several times, changing small details, but apart from that it is basically done.
It has been revealed that we will be getting our first trailer for Series 4 of MB & Homeland's Doctor Who FanFilm Series on the 25th November 2017. 2 days after the release of the Doctor Who Movie.
Harri Thompson who has played The Deacon since 2016
& Sam Moore who has played The Doctor since 2014
This trailer is currently under construction and will most likely be between 1 to 2 minutes long. The trailer will be one of three to go up before the series is released. It will also reveal the release date of the series which is currently unknown. Most likely Summer like previous seasons have come out.

Behind The Scenes of filming on Series 4
But until then we have the movie to look forward too which will come out on the 23rd November at 7pm.
We have just begun our few weeks off but just before that happened we did a small filming day finishing any gaps left in the Doctor Who Fan Movie. After that we looked at everything and suddenly realised that filming was complete. Now on to editing!
Tom Skinner, Graham Bray & Samuel Moore
after filming on the movie
The movie is scheduled for release on the 23rd November at 7pm. This gives us over a month to edit everything. Three trailers have already gone up on the channel about the movie.
So from what we've learnt in previous blog posts and other sites such as Instagram and Twitter. We know that filming is 52% done, and everyone is currently on a break. But there's more, there are a total of 6 scripts for Series 4, and a total of 304 pages overall.
Graham Bray & Tom Skinner
On location with the Tardis
Out of those 304 pages, 227 have been filmed, leaving just 77. As a percentage this means 74.6% of the scripts are done, leaving 25.3% pages left. Apparently one script still hasn't been written and work has not begun on this episode.
Tom Ford & Samuel Moore
after a day of filming
So far, we don't know any names of any episodes, except for one. A few months ago, MB & Homeland posted a group photo which had a clapper board in the corner. On this clapperboard was written "Perfect World" which we assume is one of the episodes. Apart from that we know nothing. We don't know who the companion is, no idea any monsters or villains, and its going to be a long time until its revealed.
More filming has taken place on our Series 4 of Doctor Who. We are now at 52% complete and a week ago we were at 42%. We only have two more filming days planned up until the 15th October. Then we are having a month off to rest and focus on other stuff like family, work, education, etc
Our brand new Tardis Interior
After this, we will film up until December. So far we have 7 filming days planned between 18th November and 21st December. These 7 get together should hopefully increase the percentage total to 80%. From the 1st January, we will all sit down and work out what is left to do, and if there is anymore room to add addition scripts/episodes.
Jordan & Mark taking a
break between filming
We also recently released a Tardis Interior Tour video. Feel free to check it out
As on the 15th October, series 4 will be on a hiatus until the 17th November. This is so that the actors and crew can have a break from the series to focus on life and other projects at MB & Homeland.
Sam Moore inside his Tardis
A total of 16 filming days have happened since 27th June. and 3 more are planned from now until the 15th October. So far Series 4 is 42% complete and after these 3 filming days are done, we predict we will be 50% way through.
Tiegan Chidgey and friends acting
If are 19 filming days we are at 50%, then assumable after another 19 filming days the series would be done. It has so far taken us 3 months to get to 42%. The Series could be done as early as March 2018.
Loads more filming has happened on the Series 4 of MB & Homeland's Doctor Who. It is reported that they are now 35% the way through filming and have only filmed 14 times so far.
Filming on Series 4
There has been so much talk about Series 4 but we still don't know much. For example: How many episodes? Who's the companion? Any returning actors? What about the interior?
Harri Thompson & Samuel Moore
acting in the Tardis Interior
Mark Bray has said that "Series 4 is a love story with a twist. The series will revolve around two main people. These two characters are dating and during the series we will explore their relationship but with a time travel alien twist. It'll be funny, loads of adventures but also heartbreaking at times. We have really pushed our actors to the limit with emotions and expressing themselves. We've really strengthened character background in this series"
This gives a new look at how the series will play out but we still don't know who these characters are? Who are the actors? Is it a boy and girl relationship or something different? Who knows. Hopefully we will get answers soon. But there is still the Doctor Who movie to come out in November.
A trailer for the Doctor Who Fan Movie has just been released and it features an interesting surprise.
The new trailer features the brand new Tardis Interior which was built from 30th May to the 1st September 2017. The new Tardis set has been built, painted and wired. It involves a lot of hidden gadgets and tricks which hopefully we'll get to see in the future.
Samuel Moore inside the new interior
The trailer also featured the plane interior again as well as a mysterious voice over saying "We need to create a bomb, to kill the slender... dead" this voice also appears at the end of the trailer saying "Kill them, kill them all"
We're not sure who's voice this is as it doesn't sound like Mark, Sam or Tom but we are guessing this is the main villain for the film.
Tom Skinner as he shall appear in the Doctor Who Movie
It has been two months since filming begun on Series 4 and so far they are 26% the way through the series. Filming has begun for all 7 episodes of the Series.
Chris Howlett & Brandon Messer after a day of filming
So far there have been 12 filming get togethers with another 13 planned up until the end of October. If work continues the way it has been, then by November they will have about 55% done of the series. A trailer is expected to come out at the beginning of December for Series 4.
Mark Bray filming a scene for the finale
On the 25th August we had a guest photographer in to take photos of us for being the scenes. Please check out his website. Click Here
Filming on the Doctor Who Fan Movie is nearly complete and is scheduled to air on YouTube on the 23rd November 2017. Work on Series 4 has already begun, being a month into filming. But it has recently been announced that a Christmas Special will come out in between the two. Series 4 doesn't yet have a release date but it is most likely going to come out Spring/Summer 2018.
Graham Bray, Harri Thompson, Mark Bray & Sam Moore After filming on the Movie
Tom Skinner will write the Christmas Special meaning it will be his first episode as head writer. He will also be head writer of Series 4. Filming on the special will begin sometime between September and October. It'll be a short special mainly because so much focus has gone towards Series 4.
Mark Bray & Tom Skinner Discussing after filming on the movie
It has been a month since filming on Series 4 begun. The 27th June was the first day and now a month later MB & Homeland have filmed 7 times with 2 more filming days scheduled for the end of the month.
Tardis outside Royal Crescent
Filming will most likely stop for a while during August as that is a very busy time for most people, going on holidays, etc. MB & Homeland have filming days scheduled up until the end of October. So far filming has begun on 5 out of the 7 episodes planned for Series 4.
Mark Bray filming On the 3rd July 2017
We reckon a month from now Episode 1 will nearly be completed and ready for a short premier to the cast and crew of MB & Homeland. Unfortunately there is no release date for the Series just yet.
On both Facebook and Twitter MB & Homeland have posted about filming beginning. So far they have released two images on Monday 3rd and Saturday 8th July.
Filming Monday 3rd July
This was the first photo they posted and it was captioned saying this is all they could show from the day. Filming was done very early in the morning in a park. It appears that these signs are for the public so they know to avoid the cameras and lower their voices when they see filming in progress.
Filming Saturday 8th July
This photo shows a lot more. It is slightly blurred but in the image you can see Samuel Moore dress as The Doctor. It appears his outfit has changed slightly since we last saw him in the Movie Trailer. it also shows two actors. One of which we know is Brandon Messer who has been several previous episodes and films of MB & Homeland. The other one is Chris Howlett who is new to the group. He also appears to be in uniform and holding a gun. The person holding the bright light is unknown. The location they are filming at is unknown but looks underground.
This is all we know so far about Series 4. Filming is still currently happening and will do until the beginning of August. They will break for 3 weeks, then continue at the end of August through until October.
A trailer for the series is unlikely to come out until after the movie is released on 23rd November.
Filming started the 27th June on Series 4 of MB & Homeland's Doctor Who. The photo below was posted to their Facebook & Twitter page. This photo shows the main cast of the series but no sign of Samuel Moore yet. Its unsure how big the role of The Doctor will be this series.
[From Left] Graham Bray, Brandon Messer
Jordan Crowther-Russell,
Mark Bray & Tiegan Chidgey
This photo does have some hidden Easter eggs in it. An episode name is revealed on the clapper board that Graham is holding but its unclear who the writer is, who the director is and who the cameraman is. The room indicates a location that will appear in the series, appears to be a bedroom. Brandon, Graham and Tiegan appear to be in costume so were most likely acting that day. Also on the clapper board shows Jordan and Mark names so they were probably working behind the scenes.
After one day of filming their are reports that re-shooting will already have to take place because of problems with the police box. But apart from that the schedule is still going ahead with the next filming date on the 3rd July. Mark Bray has said that very little pictures and videos will be shown of Series 4 until January next year.
It was revealed in the most recent News Update that filming on Doctor Who Series 4 will begin on the 3rd July. In the video Mark said that this date was "Written in pencil" meaning it wasn't definite that it would begin then but would be around that time.
Samuel Moore acting in Series 3 Episode 4
So far two scripts have been written with two more close to being finished. Mark has also revealed that this series will have a huge cast compared to Series 3. So far 20 people are written down to appear across the whole series with new names added every month.
Tom Ford, Samuel Moore, Aaron Hooper & Alice Barnfield acting in Series 3 Episode 5
The new update also talked about something coming that would surprise a lot of people. We are unsure what this is but hopefully we will learn more soon.
