Its finally here. The Padawan III was released on YouTube at 7pm, 4th May 2017 working really well with Star Wars Day #Maythefourthbewithyou
Part 1 was uploaded at 7pm with Part 2 at 8pm. The reason for it being cut in half was to avoid copyright problems.
Now that the movie is out on YouTube, MB & Homeland will stop Star Wars and focus on Political Rage which is the next show to come out. August 2017 Season 2 will be released. Then the Doctor Who Movie will come out on the 23rd November 2017.

24/7 Editing on Star Wars The Padawan III
After having another small premier. The gang came up with a brand new three page list of things to edit on the film. This means that the 8% left that we mentioned in the last blog post was inaccurate. The new list has revealed that we have 12% of the film to edit. Now two weeks later since the premier, we've cut that in half with only 5.9% of the film left to edit with one month to go.
We have voices to record, lightsabers to edit and sound effects to add. Then the film should be done. Only problem is lightsabers take a long time to edit, making them frame by frame using a plane layer.
This means editing 1 second with 1 lightsaber is 30 frames which takes about 10 minutes. Having two lightsabers for a 2 minute duel takes days.
We have set a deadline to get everything done and that's the 18th April. This gives us time to get a real premier together to show friends and family. Also it allows us to get other videos ready such as Outtakes and Behind The Scenes.

Editing on Star Wars The Padawan III is nearly finished
Editing on the movie began on the 21st February 2015 making the opening credits and pan down. Several small shots were edited from 2nd May 2014 to 5th January 2016. Editing on actual footage began on the 18th February 2016.
Since February 2016, we've been editing small bits as filming went by. Now the re-shoots are done and all the footage is filmed, we are now editing 24/7.
A recently calculation showed that 92% of the film has been edited leaving just 8% left. Only 7 minutes and 6 seconds out of 1 hour and 18 minutes are left to edit. Mostly being lightsaber frame by frame editing, but also a few other audio and 3D model clips to be done. MB & Homeland to get editing done by April 1st.
The film will be released on the 4th May at youtube,com/MBHomeland

Re-shooting begins 14th February on Star Wars The Padawan III
We recent held a small premier of the unfinished Star Wars film and got a lot of feedback. The feedback we got was great help but does mean re-shoots will take place which could delay the films release.
The re-shoots will begin on the 14th February and hopefully will be done by the beginning of March. A total of 3 pages will be re-filmed in the hopes to make a better movie. At the moment the film is scheduled for release on the 4th May 2017. Mark Bray fears that the film could be delay by 7 months, bringing out in December instead of May.
Non stop editing will be taking place from the 6th to the 8th February to get as much done as we can in the hopes that when re-shoots do take place, most of the film will already been done.
The big problem with the film at the moment is the opening and ending aren't very strong. the middle is perfect but we need to work on the opening more, the ending at the moment is very blurry as we have different ideas how it should end. The film might be shortened by removing the ending and having it finish earlier on which is much stronger, we are currently in debate as what to do.

Filming Wraps On Star Wars & A Brand New Trailer
Filming has finally wrapped on our up and coming Star Wars FanFilm. We finished filming on the 29th December at 3pm. There will be a few more filming get togethers but only to fill in gaps and re-film a few things.
There are a total of 3 pages left to film out of 97 so only the odd gap or two needs filling. This means editing can continue full time, A few things have already been edited but now we can focus 90% into editing whilst re-filming takes place, then afterwards we can focus 100%.
The movie has a current running time of 1 hour and 13 minutes.
Once the last 3 pages are finished and the end credits are put on the end, the film will probably be an hour and 20/25 minutes long.
We also received a brand new trailer January 1st on the YouTube Channel. This trailer featured several new characters and for the first time included dialogue,
From the last trailer we learnt about The Boy & Theo Kay would be returning from the previous Padawan films. In this trailer we found out Como Smit will also be returning played by Tom Skinner.
We also learnt about Jaz who is looking for her brother, he was taken from her family when she was three, she wants to find him and get him back.
A lot of the characters in the trailer we saw in the last one, but there are some new faces:
Darth Vader isn't seen much in this trailer compared to the last one, but does appear at the very end with the one of the unnamed characters we spoke of in an old blog post
Here is an updated version of the cast list that we know so far:
The Boy: Mark Bray
Cardell: Tom Ford
Jaz: Harri Thompson
Henri: Jordan Crowther-Russell
Como Smit: Tom Skinner
Theo Kay: Mark Bray
Darth Vader: Will Britton
Boba Fett: Tom Skinner
Darth Motalao: Samuel Moore

Unnamed Character: Graham Bray
Unnamed Character: Colin Bray
Stormtrooper With Cape: UNKNOWN
Person Behind Mask: UNKNOWN
Person Henri Aims At: UNKNOWN
Imperials & Stormtroopers: Colin Bray, Graham Bray, Samuel Moore, Tom Ford & Tom Skinner
The official cast list is likely to be revealed soon. Another trailer will most like happen either next month or in March.

Filming Nearly Done On Star Wars The Padawan III 'Darkness Of The Republic'
As of the 22nd December, MB & Homeland have held 19 filming get togethers on Star Wars The Padawan III, and have stacked up over an hour of footage for the movie. A total of 81 out of the 94 pages in the script have been completed with just 13 more to do.
MB & Homeland will be holding 2 more filming days between the 29th December 2016 and the 7th January 2017 to complete the last 13 pages. With editing 25% done, it looks like the film will be out for the 4th May 2017 and won't be delayed as Mark feared.
MB & Homeland originally had plans to not release another trailer until February 2017, but it looks like they could be bringing one out as early as 1st January 2017. This trailer would reveal the other main characters that we have not seen yet, and will give us dialogue [unlike the first trailer] with a clearer understanding of the plot.

Next Star Wars FanFilm The Padawan III Trailer Release Date
In August we uploaded a trailer for our new Star Wars FanFilm, we got a lot of feedback on it and a lot of people seemed to enjoy it. A few people did say that it was a shame that there wasn't much action in the trailer, a lot of it was just people standing around or walking.
This is mainly because editing has only just begun and very few special effects have been added yet. Lightsaber effects can take up to 2 months to edit together. Plus a lot of the stuff you see in the trailer isn't even finalised, for example the scene where you see the star destroyers flying away from the camera, that scene has been edited a least 10 times since we uploaded that trailer in fact the exhaust colour has changed from red to blue to fit in with canon.
We've also not finished filming yet, so there is a lot still to come.
Mark Bray recently said that another trailer won't come out until February, nearly 5 months since the first trailer was released. Mark hasn't decided a release day just yet but its most likely going to be the middle of February.
Loads of editing has going into the new Star Wars film. Mark responded to a comment under the August Trailer saying "We are putting more effort into this movie than any other film we've ever made before"
A small premier took place on 24th October just for members of MB & Homeland.
Colin Bray, Graham Bray, Jordan Crowther-Russell, Mark Bray, Samuel Moore & Tom Skinner sat down to watch the unfinished film to give feedback on sound and footage quality. They all agreed the plot is the best thing they've ever created at MB & Homeland, now the important thing is making sure its clear so that everyone can understand it.
No new characters have been announced but Mark assures us that in the next trailer you'll get to see several new characters and you'll see the other two main characters.
Mark Bray did announced that four characters from the original trilogy will be appearing in the Star Wars FanFilm. We've already seen Vader but who are the other three? I guess we'll have to wait and see

Current Plans & Future Projects
At the moment at MB & Homeland we are currently putting together a short series of 7 Episodes of Doctor Who. We are releasing 5 of those 7 episodes from 11th July - 8th August this year. The other 2 will come out Christmas Day 2015 and New Years Day 2016.
We hope this year to start filming a new series called 'Political Rage' which we hope will come out Autumn 2016. This series will start Graham Bray, Samuel Moore & Mark Bray. Filming is scheduled to begin on 'Political Rage' Sunday 31st May 2015.
We are also hoping to start remastering our second Star Wars movie. We recently remastered our 2012 Star Wars fan film 'The Padawan' by adding new sound effects, filters, soundtrack, lightsaber special effects and many more. We are also planning on remastered our second Star Wars fan film 2013 'The Padawan II The Return' by adding the same stuff. Remastering will hopefully begin in August and 'Star Wars The Padawan II The Return Remastered' should hopefully be going on YouTube in May 2016. A trailer will be going online in January 2016
Still talking about Star Wars, we are planning on filming a third Star Wars fan film; starting early next year, and it is called 'Darkness Of The Republic', It will go online in May 2017.
We are hoping to start filming our own original movie late June. This movie is yet to be named. We originally began filming it in February 2013 before it was cancelled. The original name was 'Doors The Movie'. We are thinking of changing the name from 'Doors' to something else. We did plan on bringing out this movie in December 2015 before it was cancelled for a second time. Now we are bringing it back again for a third time. This time it won't come out until February/March 2016 and is yet to be named.
Nothing has been confirmed about this yet but we are hoping at some point in the near future to bring out our own James Bond fan film. From Thursday 10th January - Thursday 7th March 2013. Mark Bray wrote a James Bond script called 'Daybringer'. A cast list for this film has yet to be released but it is believed that either Tom Skinner will be playing James Bond or new member Aaron Hooper. These are just rumours. This film will probably come out late 2016, early 2017.
We are slowly getting episodes together for the next series of Doctor Who. We are currently filming our second series and are slowly putting plans together for our third series which will come out Summer 2016. We don't know yet if Samuel Moore will stay on for a second series or get replaced by someone else. The most likely people to replace Samuel Moore are Tom Skinner, Aaron Hooper or Graham Bray. Filming on Series 3 will take place later this year.
Hope you've enjoyed this blog post
